Mr. Glendon Jones

Principal

I am elated to return to Westside Primary school, after serving as principal at East Salisbury for nine years. This is my 37th year in the field of education with experiences ranging from primary through collegiate levels. I have taught fifth grade gifted and talented for four years in the Fairfax County School System; Sixteen years in Worcester County Public schools teaching third grade for three years; guidance counselor at the elementary level for 1 year and two years at Snow Hill and Pocomoke Middle schools rotating alternate days; and 10 years as assistant principal at Pocomoke Elementary School. In addition to teaching in the public school system of Fairfax, Worcester and Wicomico Counties, I have taught correctional education for three years, College entrance classes for two years at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and one year in the Early Childhood Graduate Studies Program at Salisbury University. I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary/Special Education from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Masters course work completed in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Maryland, and a Masters in Administration and Supervision from Salisbury University. I believe educators have chosen the teaching profession, because we believe our skills and inspirations will make a positive difference in the lives of children. We model for our children each day to be the kind of persons we want them to grow up to be. There is no greater profession or challenge than this.
